Mi az El Camino?
A Camino de Santiago (angolul: Szent Jakab útja) egy zarándokok útvonalhálózata, amely a Spanyolország északnyugati részén, Galíciában található Santiago de Compostela székesegyházhoz vezet, a Nagy Szent Jakab apostol szentélyéhez, ahol a a szenteket eltemetik.
The Camino Today
The Camino is very popular in modern times – it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, and in 2010 a movie about the Camino – called The Way – starring Martin Sheen was released.
In 2018, almost 330.000 pilgrims reached Santiago de Compostela – a combination of those who walked the French Way, the Northern Way (along the north coast of Spain), the Portuguese Way (from Lisbon), the English Way (from Ferrol in Galicia), the Camino Primitivo (from Oviedo in Asturias) and the Vía de la Plata (from Seville in Andalusia).
