Gianni Rodari

Gianni Rodari (23rd October 1920 – 14th April 1980) was an Italian writer and journalist. For his lasting contribution as a children’s author he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. He is considered as Italy’s most important 20th-century children’s author and his books have been translated into many languages.
The story
Giovannino is a child who decides to go for a walk. Being a very distracted child, he loses some of his body parts during the walk and trying to pick up one of them causes him to lose other parts. The neighbours try to help him by calling him or picking up his body parts and taking them home. At home, Giovannino’s mother is waiting for him and is very grateful for the help of the people in the neighbourhood.
