Erich Kästner

The German writer, journalist and poet was born in Dresden in 1899. His most famous novels are his young-adult novels, which have been translated into 59 languages. During World War II. he was often arrested by the Gestapo, his works were banned from publication and many were even publicly burned in 1933. After the end of World War II. he moved to Munich and was able to publish freely again.

Plot summary:

Two separated twins, each living with a single parent and unaware from the other one´s existence, meet each other accidentally at a summer camp. They decide to change place. The gentle Lottie travels to her father to Vienna, the chirpy Lisa goes to her mother to Munich.
