What happens when classic literature meets modern technology?
The students of Szent-Györgyi Albert Primary School and High School in Budapest’s 9th district demonstrated this when they adapted The Jungle Book using the RIDE method. During the three-hour session, the students not only read and interpreted the text, but also designed, built, and programmed – using ArTeC robots, they brought Mowgli to life.
At the end of the program, each team presented their scene in a short presentation to the others and to guests from Abacusan Studio. The aim of the methodology is to promote active participation and creativity among students, as well as to develop their problem-solving and collaboration skills.
The aim of the methodology is to promote active participation and creativity among students, as well as to develop their problem-solving and collaboration skills. It can be used in learning environments where the goal is to teach STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) using an integrated approach, or in project-based learning, where students seek solutions to real-world problems.
This afternoon was a perfect example of how learning can become an enjoyable and creative process.
